The Effects of High Intensity Interval Training on HNF-4 α Gene Expression in Liver Tissue of Type 2 Diabetic Male Wistar Rats

چکیده مقاله:
Objective: This study examined the effect of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on HNF-4α gene expression, glucose and insulin in liver tissue of type 2 diabetic male Wistar rats. Materials and Methods: In this study, 20 male Wistar rats weighing 220 (±20) grams were selected. After type 2 diabetes (T2D) induction, the samples were divided into two groups of HIIT and control. The training program was 12 weeks and 5 times a week. Fasting glucose, serum insulin and HNF-4α gene expression in the liver tissue were measured in both groups after the last exercise session by using independent T-test. Results: The results showed that HIIT decreased significantly the fasting glucose (P-value: 0.001) and increased serum insulin (P-value: 0.001). Also, the expression of HNF-4α after HIIT significantly decreased in comparison to the control group (P-value: 0.003). Conclusion: Based on the findings, HIIT resulted in a significant decrease in fasting glucose and a significant increase in insulin that is likely to reduce the liver HNF-4α gene expression of T2D male Wistar rats by increasing serum insulin.

Introduction: Exercise training with different intensity regulates metabolism at the cellular level by regulating the expression of genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis in diabetic patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of 4 weeks of high intensity interval training on the expression of PGC-1α, CS and p-53 genes in the cardiomyocytes of obese male rats with type 2 diab...

Objective: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) and continues aerobic training (CT) have cardio-protective effects in diabetic rats. The functional role of microRNA in heart was studied. Only miR-29a levels were found to correlate with cardiac fibrosis, This study tests the hypothesis that applying HIIT and CT cases miR-29a increasing is associated with a reduction of connective tissue growt...

متن کاملEffects of Aerobic Training on mTORC1 Gene Expression in Male Wistar Rats with Type 2 Diabetes
Objective: Although type 2 diabetes is a multifactorial illness, one of the major risk factors is the prevalence of obesity. In this context, recent genetic studies on diabetics or pre-diabetics, have shown that some of the newly-known genes make the conditions for type 2 diabetes even in the absence of obesity. One of these genes is called mTORC1, which plays an important role in the synt...
